For K–12 instructional coaches and MTSS teams
Small groups ready the day scores land, not two weeks later.
GrowGroups reads the assessment export you already have — MAP, i-Ready, DIBELS, state tests — and turns it into skill-based small groups, growth against each student’s baseline, and a clear read on who is on pace for the end-of-year benchmark.
GrowGroups is in early development. The demo runs on invented sample students — no real student data.
The benchmark window closes. Then the real work starts.
The export lands
Scores come back as a wide spreadsheet with a row per student and a column per subskill. Useful data, unusable shape.
Groups get built by hand
Sorting, filtering, colour-coding, copying names into a planning doc — hours of careful work that has to be redone for every grade and every window.
The groups go stale
Students move faster than the spreadsheet does. By the time anyone re-cuts the groups, some students have been in the wrong one for weeks.
None of that is an analysis problem — it is a formatting problem standing between a coach and their students. GrowGroups does the formatting so the professional judgement stays with the educator.
How it works
Four steps, in the order a benchmark window actually happens.
- 1
Import
Upload the export you already pull from MAP, i-Ready, DIBELS, or your state test. GrowGroups reads the columns and maps students to skills.
- 2
Group
Students are clustered into skill-based small groups by the gap they actually share, not by a single composite score. Move any student by hand when you know better.
- 3
Track
Every student carries a baseline. Each new window shows growth against that baseline, so progress is visible without rebuilding a spreadsheet.
- 4
Predict
As scores come in, GrowGroups projects who is on pace for the end-of-year benchmark and flags who is drifting off it while there is still time to act.
Groups are suggestions, always editable. Nothing is locked, and nothing is decided for you.
Who it’s for
Built for the people in elementary and middle schools who own grouping decisions between benchmark windows.
Instructional Coaches
Walk into a grade-level meeting with groups already drafted and a defensible reason behind each one, instead of spending the meeting building them.
MTSS / RTI Coordinators
See tier movement across a building at a glance: who entered intervention, who is responding, and who needs a different group.
Grade-Level Teams
Share one current view of groups and growth, so planning time goes to instruction rather than reconciling four versions of the same file.
